lets see, shes going to be 11 weeks on tuesday. can you believe it?? where has the time gone?
she went to the doctor on february 7 for her 2 month check up. she weighed in a a whopping 12lb 1oz and 23inches. holy moly!!! growing like a weed!!! she got her first rounds of shots and one of them was the DTaP... which is the Pertussis one!! (in adults its the TDaP but for kids, its DTaP). She screamed bloody murder when they gave her her shots and I got teary eyed too. I felt so bad for her. But within a minute, she was fine. She did really good for what I expected from her. I thought it was going to be way worse than it was. Bless her heart! Thank goodness her next shots aren't until April!
She went back to the doctor on February 18 because I noticed a blackness color on the tip of her nose. I was concerned. The doctor told me that hes never seen anything like it before. he said it was either a bruise or a bunch of blood vessels bunched up together. Either way, he wasn't overly concerned. If he gets worse, then he wants to run blood work on her. I might call them and ask them to have blood work done anyway, just to see if they can find anything to cause it. in the picture below, you can kinda see the tint to her nose. While at that appointment, they weighed her and she weighed in at 12lb 15oz. SHES GROWING LIKE CRAZY!!!
Today (sunday) Chesney went on a road trip! Granted she had her first road trip coming home from the hospital in Chicago but today she had "first" road trip! She did AWESOME!! She and I rode with Papa and Grandma Barb to Fort Wayne to visit Uncle and Auntie Jillan. She was cooped up in their apartment all day but she really did great. I am so proud of her! Way to go Ches!!!
On a personal level, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life on friday. As of February 25, I will be a stay at home mom. Yep, I quit my job at the bank. It wasn't an easy decision. I have been been working there for 12 years so I feel like that is my second home, and second family. But, on the other hand, I have been trying to have a family for the past 6 years. So it really was a hard decision. But after talking with Craig, many sleepless hours, and many tears, we decided I get to stay home! I'll still work at Maxi's but as for during the day, Im gonna be home. Sure, down the road I might want to pick up a part time job somewhere, and Im okay with that. And some day I might want to return to the bank, I hope they'd take me back! But for now, Im Chesney's momma!!!!
Everything is going really well. We're still keeping Chesney in her bubble and just enjoying being a family of 4, plus an Angel looking over us.
Oh and Chesneys favorite thing in the morning right now is watching Elmo. Something about his annoying voice and red color gets her glued to the tv. Its so neat to watch her sit and just stare at the tv!!!
